Once upon a time there was a kingdom called Hyrule, ruled by a wise and just king who had three children. They were all skilled in different areas, but the youngest, Princess Zelda, had the most magical power of them all. She was gentle and kind-hearted, but strong and fierce when she needed to be.
One day, a dark sorcerer came to the kingdom and wrought havoc upon it. He unleashed a powerful curse that drained the life force of the land, and all the plants and animals withered and died. The people of Hyrule were desperate to find a way to undo the curse, but nothing seemed to work.

Undeterred, Princess Zelda infiltrated the fortress and confronted the sorcerer in a fierce battle. Though he was a formidable opponent, she summoned all her magical powers and defeated him.
