The Triyuginarayan temple is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India. This ancient temple is believed to have been constructed in the 7th century during the reign of the Katyuri kings. The deity of the temple is Lord Vishnu, also known as Tryuginarayan, who is worshipped here in the form of a black stone idol.
According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that Lord Vishnu married Goddess Parvati in this temple. It is said that Sage Narada had requested Lord Vishnu to help him find a suitable groom for Goddess Parvati. Lord Vishnu immediately suggested that he should marry her himself. The couple got married in the Triyuginarayan temple, and the holy fire for the wedding is still kept burning in the temple.
The temple also has inscriptions that suggest that it was renovated by the King of Garhwal in the 16th century. The temple has a distinct architecture style, which is a combination of the North and South Indian styles. It is made up of granite stones and has a sloping roof with several small chambers surrounding it.
Apart from its historical and mythological significance, the Triyuginarayan temple is also famous for its scenic beauty. It is located amidst the beautiful Himalayan ranges, and the trek to the temple is filled with breathtaking scenic views of the mountains, rivers, and valleys.
